The Vereniging voor Mediators in het Notariaat (VMN) is the organisation of (candidate) notaries specialising in divorces and separations.
A VMN notary has had thorough mediation training. Besides the usual notarial knowledge, this notary-mediator has specific knowledge in the field of child and spousal maintenance, divorce and separation law, divisions, pensions, annuities and insurance. Not to mention the tax aspects thereof.
VMN membership can be seen as a quality label and provides a guarantee that knowledge and mediation techniques are and remain up to standard.
A VMN notary is able to draw up a parenting plan and deal with the emotions involved in a divorce. If required, this notary-mediator can also talk to the children about the impact their parents' divorce is having on them.
