Transfer

In common parlance, the terms "sale" and "purchase" are often used interchangeably with the term "handover". If you buy a loaf of bread, the moment of sale/purchase and the moment of transfer usually coincide, namely by placing the order and handing over the bread. But actually, the purchase of a loaf of bread is nothing but the conclusion of a purchase agreement followed by a transfer/delivery.

The transfer of ownership, also known as delivery, is subject to special delivery rules for certain items and rights. This could be, for example, a private deed, a notarial deed or entry in a particular register.

Please note that if the delivery formalities are not completed properly, you may believe you are the owner but turn out not to be so at any time.
