An extract from the trade register is official proof of the registration of a company or legal entity in the trade register of the Chamber of Commerce. It contains the main details of the company or legal entity registered in the trade register, such as: name and address, contact details, incorporation date, capital of the legal entity, who is/are authorised to represent the company or legal entity, etcetera.

It is very important to ensure that the information in the trade register is up-to-date. Indeed, third parties may rely on the information being up to date. If a former director is still registered, he can still represent. He may also still be liable if those who are directors make a mess of things, i.e. also for matters over which he no longer has any influence.
