Building inspection

When buying a property, it is important to get advice on the financial, tax and legal situation. In addition, good advice on the structural situation is desirable.

A good building inspector checks the foundation as well as the quality of concrete, stone and woodwork. He also assesses the technical installation and pipework, among other things. In all this, he not only looks at the eye-catching issues but also at potentially hidden matters.

A structural inspection prevents a lot of suffering. A buyer's negotiating position is better when defects come to light prior to delivery rather than after.

Note: if you have an investigation done and that investigation is done with insufficient knowledge and attention, the building inspection can also turn against you. The seller can then usually successfully argue that defects that surface later are at the buyer's risk.
