An added notary is a candidate notary who can and may perform the same activities as a notary. The difference with an "ordinary" notary is that the added notary is employed by another notary. The deeds drawn up by the added notary are not kept by the added notary, but by the notary to whom he is attached.
The attached notary is also appointed by the King and sworn in by the judge. However, the added notary is not a self-employed person.

To be appointed as an added notary, a person must have studied notarial law, worked as a candidate notary in a notary's office for six years and completed his professional training.
